COLLEGE OFFICIALS who have signed on to the provocative proposition that the legal drinking age of 21 isn’t working say that they just want to start a debate. Perhaps when they get done with that, they can move on to whether Earth really orbits...

Agree with you there Radhika... I think the whole problem with underage drinking is that the laws in developed countries allow kids to get a driving license at the age of 16!
Now if a 16-year old officially had a car, he certainly will have friends who want to hitch a ride with him, and knowing how rebellious teens are, they probably also find way to get their hands on booze...
And if you see where I’m going with this, then you’d certainly understand that the problem here isn’t underage drinking, its underage drinking mixed with driving.
Perhaps they should lower the legal drinking age and up the legal age for procuring a driving license and see if that helps!

actually drinking and driving is a global phenomena and should b addressed on a bigger platform. under the influence of alcohol many other crimes of passion hv also been committed. so the bigger need is to advocate drinking with responsibility.

Forget the legal age, its the responsibility that accompanies drinking that should be advocated. u can drink at the age of 50 but if you dont behave responsibly after a session, then its useless...u could hurt yourself or someone else.
plz advocate safe drinking as well.
