The words ”urban area,” ”city,” and ”metropolis” have also become synonymous with densely congested spaces, high crime rate, employment shortage, slums, housing shortage, social degradation, urban poor, consumerist paranoia, poor waste management, drug trade, etc.

Interestingly, what is urban has become less urbane. It has become an oxymoron.
